We have a whole‑school Homework Policy designed to build on classroom learning and help children develop independence, good study habits and self‑discipline. Homework tasks are carefully planned, and the school provides resources where needed. Teachers review and mark homework so that children receive feedback on their efforts.
Reading is a central part of our approach. We encourage all children to read at home every evening—around 10 minutes in Key Stage 1, increasing to 20 minutes in Key Stage 2. From Year 1 onwards, pupils also receive weekly spellings and a weekly maths task. In Key Stage 2, written homework is set each Friday and returned the following Tuesday, giving families flexibility to complete it around weekend commitments.
We are grateful for the support parents provide at home and work hard to keep communication clear, consistent and helpful.
