Our governance structure is designed to ensure CAM achieves its mission and strategic objectives.
The CAM Academy Trust is a charitable company and has several important layers of governance:
- Members
- Board of Trustees
- Local Advisory Boards
- Trust Executive
Our scheme of delegation sets out how accountability and decision-making works within the Trust.
Our governance structure
Members are custodians of the trust’s constitution and charitable purpose. Their main role is to hold the trust board to account for effective governance
Trustees are the strategic governing body of the trust. They set the vision and strategy for all schools in the trust. They oversee finance, compliance, risk and educational performance, holding the trust executive to account.
Our Local Advisory boards provide an important connection to our school communities and gain an understanding of the ‘lived experience’ of pupils in individual schools. Although not formally ‘governors’ they undertake a very important role.
Formulation of strategy and day to day operations are delegated to the Chief Executive. The Chief Executive is supported by an executive leadership team and professional experts within the trust central team.
